Frequently
Asked Questions :
Answers
to the most frequently asked
questions about Air Duct Cleaning.
HOW DO WE DO AIR DUCT CLEANING?
We start with a long hose that goes
all the way outside to a powerful
vacuum that sits just outside your
door. On the end of the hose is a
big round soft bristled brush. We go
to each one of your vents and take
off the vent cover. Then, we run the
hose with the big round soft
bristled brush on the end of it all
the way through your ducts,
thoroughly brushing the system
clean.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
It's hard to say how long some
houses will take. However, as a rule
of thumb it usally takes about 1 1/2
to 2 hours for about every ten
vents. Therefore, a house with
twenty vents would normally take
about 3-4 hours. Keep in mind that
some houses will take less time,
some longer. It depends on how dirty
the ducts and unit are and how large
the house is. It's better estimated
once we arrive to do the work.
HOW CAN I TELL IF I NEED AIR DUCT
CLEANING?
One very easy way to tell if you
need air duct cleaning is by looking
up at your vent covers. If you see
dust, mold, or mildew building up on
the vent covers or ceiling, then you
need air duct cleaning. The
Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) says that "you should consider
having the air ducts in your home
cleaned if there is substantial
visible mold growth inside ducts or
on other components of your heating
and cooling system."
